I haven't compared them but I hear that Ungor Spear Herds are worse than Goblins, literally. You gotta remember with your units that they are ♥♥♥♥-tier. I sometimes find myself going for the Border Princes and then Bretonnia even as Malagor. You should also invest in a few supportive spells.

Simply keep your stacks together while raiding Estalia's provinces and eluding their armies when necessary.

I've played a few Beastmen campaigns on normal through very hard and I have had great success with keeping my starting LL and additional lord together while dual raiding enemy provinces.
